McLaren sells 100th MP41C in Africa and Middle East region

McLaren retailer in Manama – Al Ghassan Motors received their 100th MP412C sports car, just one year after the first MP4-12Cs were received in the country, handed over to them by British auto manufacturer McLaren Automotive. Ever since this range of vehicle was launched in 2011, they have been much in demand and reaching this figure has boosted their status. Al Ghassan Motors have also moved to a new location at the prestigious Bahrain World Trade Centre.

McLaren have set up a new factory during the past one year, received sales orders for 25 GT racing cars and set up over 40 new McLaren dealerships besides building over 1000 MP412Cs. Reaching the landmark 100 12Cs is reward enough for the company as this goes to show its popularity among customers besides ability and magnificence of the vehicle.

Middle East is a major market for McLaren Automotive. Their vehicles are well received and held in high esteem in the region. There are a number of dealer showrooms of which Al Ghassan Motors is one of the initial five retailers appointed specifically for the 12C model, 12C Spider and other high performance sports cars in the region.

McLAREN AUTOMOTIVE’S MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA REGIONAL OFFICE CONGRATULATES McLAREN MANAMA ON TAKING DELIVERY OF THE 100th 12C IN THE REGION

Regional Director for McLaren Automotive, Mark Harrison delivers Middle East and Africa region’s 100th 12C to Al Ghassan Motors’ President and CEO, Sheikh Ghassan A. H. Al Sulaiman in Manama, Bahrain.
McLaren achieved sales of over 1000 12C high performance sports cars worldwide in its first year.
(Manama, Bahrain, 16th August) – Less than one year since the first Middle East customers received their MP4-12Cs, McLaren Automotive has today handed over the 100th 12C in the region to the official McLaren retailer in Manama, Al Ghassan Motors.  This number represents almost 10 per cent of total McLaren 12C sales worldwide since the manufacturer delivered the first of its new range of cars in 2011. The arrival at this landmark figure also follows the announcement by Al Ghassan Motors last month to locate the McLaren Manama showroom at the site of the Bahrain World Trade Centre.

Mark Harrison, Regional Director for McLaren Automotive in the Middle East & Africa, said: “The past 12 months have been an historic, and incredibly busy time for McLaren as we enter the challenging business of high-performance sports cars. We have built a new factory, sold 25 GT3 racing cars, opened nearly 40 McLaren dealerships, and built over 1,000 12Cs to order. But, for me, the key number is 100: 100 12Cs sold in this region is a great reward for McLaren, for our retail partners and our customers who have been thrilled with the car’s performance and beauty.”

Al Ghassan Motors’ President and CEO, Sheikh Ghassan A. H. Al Sulaiman, on receipt of the car from Mark Harrison, said, “The delivery of the 100th car in the region is a milestone Al Ghassan is proud to be part of; the success of the brand within our stable of premium, luxury sports cars is a further pillar from which we can grow our business within Bahrain.  We now work towards further milestones with McLaren which will no doubt be supported by the introduction of the new 12C Spider.”

This year has been one of incredible successes for the automotive manufacturer, which has seen the company mark 1,000 MP4-12C cars sold worldwide. With just one year operating at full capacity, McLaren has firmly established itself as one of the world’s most exciting sports car companies.

Commenting on the arrival of the car in the Kingdom, Mark Harrison continued, “Our success is only possible through our retailers’ dedication to establish McLaren in the competitive high performance sports car market. We have to earn the right to challenge much-loved rival sports car brands and can only do this by offering a better car and a better level of customer service.

Handing over the keys for the 100th 12C to our Bahrain retailer, Al Ghassan Motors, indicates the appeal of our product among the region’s discerning sports car fans. Al Ghassan Motors is one of an initial five retailers appointed in the Middle East to sell McLaren’s debut model the 12C, the recently launched 12C Spider and its future range of high performance sports cars. The Middle East is a key market for McLaren Automotive and in addition to the showrooms already open in Abu Dhabi and Dubai (Al Habtoor Motors), Kuwait (Ali Alghanim & Sons) and Jeddah (Al Ghassan Motors), the company’s full regional network will include retailers in Doha (Al Wajba Establishment) and Manama (Al Ghassan Motors). There is also a service centre in Beirut (Saad & Trad Sal).
