Mercedes-Benz India Ltd. is not yet done with its product onslaught for the year. The company announced that it will launch 15 new models this year and it has already launched 13 products so far. The flagship Mercedes-AMG GT sportscar which is scheduled to be launched on November 24 will be the 14th car.
Powering the AMG GT is a 4.0-litre Biturbo hand-assembled AMG motor which is available in two states on tune – 462 PS in the base model and 510 PS in the GT S. The range-topping variant is capable of galloping form rest to ton in under four seconds and the athletic Merc can reach an impressive top whack of 310 kmph. A 7-speed AMG dual-clutch automatic transmission drives the rear wheels with the help of an electronic differential.
It’s not just about sheer straight line performance. The sportscar is suspended by double wishbone setup that employ electronic dampers at all the four corners for excellent handling characteristics. Noteworthy features out of the lengthy equipment list include adaptive braking, Pre-Safe brake with fully autonomous braking, attention assist, high beam assist, radar-guided cruise control, lane keeping assistance, collision prevention, etc.
The Mercedes-AMG GT is the fifth AMG model to land in India this year and will be the fastest car from the brand to be on sale here.
