Mercedes Benz revealed their new B Class electric version at the Paris Motor Show in 2012 along with the new SLS AMG and Smart Brabus Electric Drive. The B Class Electric Drive is all set to enter markets in 2014, and was recently caught on test on the streets of Sweden during various stages of development.
B Class Electric Drive is fitted with a lithium ion battery delivering output of 100 kW which equates to 134 hp and 310 Nm torque. It is fitted with redesigned air vents on the lower part of its front bumper while tailpipes are lacking in the rear on this all electric model.
Mercedes Benz has announced that once this electric drive is ready for launch it will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in below 10 seconds while it will possess a top speed limit of 150 kmph. Batteries offer a range of 200 kms on a single recharge to the new B Class Electric and can be charged from any domestic 230V power outlet. Rapid recharge can be done in below one hour which will then enable the vehicle to accomplish a total of 100 kms.
