Mercedes Benz revealed the new G63 AMG first at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. The G63 receives exterior updates, a new engine and well fashioned interiors. G63 also receives a two slat grille, a new front bumper with air ducts and red brake calipers as it sits on 20” alloy wheels. New exhaust pipes are also seen under the rear doors on either side.
2013 Mercedes Benz G63 AMG is fitted with a 5.5 liter V8 engine mated to a 7 speed 7G tronic gearbox offering 544 hp power and 760 Nm torque. It comes in with a ECO start/stop function which enhances fuel efficiency. Cosmetic changes include a new instrument panel, centre console with new controls and exclusive trims. Interiors are classy and well upholstered. Topspeed is electronically limited to 210 kmph, 0-100 kmph is achieved in just 5.4 seconds. Mercedes Benz Driving Events conducts a close to 50 day road trip form Germany to India every year which consists of only G Class SUV’s. From this year, Mercedes Benz India will also be participating via their newly launched Performance Drive Events. If you wish to participate in this road trip, you need to own a G Class or manage to hire one. Charges per person are INR 21 lakhs for the trip.
