India is now among the top 6 markets for Mercedes-Benz GLS globally. Mercedes-Benz GLS Grand Edition was launched in India. Available in both diesel, and petrol, the full-size luxury SUV takes inspiration from the flagship S-Class. Mercedes-Benz GLS Grand Edition -350 d (Diesel) and 400 (Petrol) both are available at a price of Rs 86.90 Lakhs (Ex-showroom India).

LED Intelligent Light System with unique black rings for overall improved visibility; headlamps adaptability to driving and weather conditions; activation of dipped beam at speeds over 90 kmph; Active light function swings headlamps; Corner light function improves lighting at corners and bends; and fog lamp lights up outer half of the carriageway and reduces glare from light reflected by fog.

The vehicle runs on 50.8 cm (20″) 10-spoke light alloy wheels in black and in high-sheen finish. Exterior badges and chrome fins on the bonnet help distinguish ‘Grand Edition’. Two 17.8 cm (7 inch) high definition screens are offered as part of the RSES (Rear Seat Entertainment System) offered as standard in GLS Grand Edition.

Mercedes-Benz GLS Grand Edition is supported through service packages that offer value proposition. Compact Packages for GLS 400 start at Rs. 75,000, and for GLS 350 d at Rs. 104,000 for two years.

GLS 350 d is powered by a 3-litre, V6 diesel engine to return 190 kW (258 hp) and 620 Nm of peak torque. GLS 400 gets a 3L V6 petrol engine and returns 245 kW (333 hp) and 480 Nm of torque. Both variants are mated to 9G-TRONIC 9-Speed automatic transmission.
