Mercedes Benz India Q3 2016 sales figures revealed

Mercedes Benz India continues to be the largest luxury car brand in the country.

Mercedes Benz India registered a decline in sales for the Jul-Sep quarter this year. The company registered total sales of 3,327 units for the Jul-Sep 2016 period. This, when compared to sales registered during the same period in 2015, is a decline of about 3%. The company sold 3,420 units in Jul-Sep 2015 period.

For year to date sales, Mercedes Benz posted sales of 9,924 units, as against 10,079 units sold in the same period last year.


The slight decline in sales could be attributed to the few months when their cars were banned from Delhi NCR. But inspite of this, the German brand has continued to maintain their No 1 status in the country, ahead of rivals Audi and BMW.

If we compare Q3 sales figures with that of Q2, Mercedes Benz India has posted a growth of 12%. In Q2 2016, MB India sold 2,975 units, while in Q3 2016 they sold 3,327 units.


Commenting on the sales performance, Roland Folger, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said – “Mercedes-Benz remains the undisputed market leader in the luxury car segment in India today. Though the resurgence of sales is still slow, we are confident that it will gain pace in the remaining months.”
