Mercedes Benz India sales cross 10,000 units in first nine months of 2015

Becoming the first luxury car manufacturer in India to post over 10,000 sales in nine months, Mercedes Benz has dedicated this success to their line-up of exciting new generation cars. This includes the new A Class, B Class, CLA Class, and the GLA Class.

Apart from these, all their other cars, the new C, Class, E Class, flagship S Class, ML Class, GL Class, their range of AMG’s and now the Maybach (which is already sold-out for the year), have registered good sales, resulting in MB India posting their highest sales ever.

The company’s trio of luxury sedans, C Class, E Class and S Class registered an increase of 39% as compared to last year’s sales figures. While the SUV portfolio compromising of GLA Class, ML Class and the and the GL Class, registered a growth of 70% during the Jan-Sep 2015 period.

As compared to 2014, when the company sold 7,529 units during the same period of nine months, this year’s sales performance is up by 34%. Speaking about Mercedes Benz India sales performance during the Jul-Sep 2015 quarter, sales during this period were at 3,420 units. This against the same period last year, when the company sold 2,812 units, is an increase of 22%.

Mercedes Benz India has also invested heavily in their facility at Chakan, near Pune. This has resulted in them locally assembling most of their cars on offer in the country.

Along with new range of cars, helping Mercedes Benz India in achieve this growth, is their network of 80 dealers in 39 cities across India. This is the largest and densest network of luxury car dealers for any brand in the country. In the Jan-Sep 2015 period, the company added 12 new outlets, and before the year ends, they will three more.

Following the ’15 in 15′ strategy, Mercedes Benz is all set to launch the new GLE Class SUV in India on the 14th of this month. Their 13th launch of the year, new GLE will replace the existing ML Class from the company line-up.

Speaking about their success, new MB India MD, Roland Folger said, “The success of the first three quarters has been in line with our expectations and we are confident of achieving our target of a sustainable double digit growth.”

After ending the year 2014 as No 2 luxury car manufacturer in the country, Mercedes Benz India is aiming to end the year 2015 as No 1.
