Mercedes Benz India to launch ML 63 AMG on May 15

German luxury automakers, Mercedes Benz have announced launch of their third AMG model this year for India, ML 63 AMG. Mercedes Benz India will launch the new AMG on 15th May 2014. Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India will be present at the launch.

mercedes benz ml 63 amg 1 frontOnce successfully launched, the hi-performance SUV will compete against Range Rover Sport and upcoming Porsche Macan Turbo. It will come in with a 5.5 liter V8 Bi-Turbo engine offering 525 hp peak power and 700 Nm peak torque, mated to an AMG Speedshift 7G-Tronic automatic transmission. This engine will be capable of taking the ML 63 AMG from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 kmph (electronically controlled).

ML 63 AMG will be brought in as a Completely Built up Unit and will be positioned below the recently launched GL63 AMG which is priced at INR 1.66 crores – ex – showroom Mumbai. ML 63 AMG features state of the art AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7 speed gearbox, sending power to all four wheels via a Mercedes 4MATIC system. Through this system, 40% power is directed to front wheels while the balance 60% is delivered to rear wheels. As per European driving tests, Mercedes Benz ML 63 AMG is capable of fuel efficiency of 8.47 kmpl while auto emissions stand at 276 g/km.

Akin to GL 63 AMG, the ML 63 AMG also receives a number of updates from the ML Class Mercedes with some modifications to its exterior. The interiors are luxurious par excellence, with quality leather upholstery along with AMG performance steering wheel, sports seats and sport pedals. We expect ML63 AMG to be priced in the range of INR 1.4 crores, ex-showroom, Mumbai.
