Mercedes Benz has had a committed allegiance to Motorsports spans 117 years with them being there since 1894. The journey from Silver Arrow to today’s MercedesGP team is incomparable. The company is responsible for six of the participating race cars in the 2011 Grand Prix season. The tri star journey takes us back to the Silver Arrows journey that started on 3rd June 1934 when Manfred von Brauchitsch behind a Mercedes W25 took the Eifelrennen at the Nürburgring. Twenty years later on 4th July 1954, Juan Manuel Fangio at the wheels of the W196 streamliner was victorious at the French Grand Prix at Reims, and  registered the 1st Formula One race win for Mercedes Benz.
