Mercedes Benz registers increase in sales by 7% in August 2011, expects to do even better with the launch of new C Class
Mercedes Benz India registered a 7% increase in sales figures as they sold 614 units in the month of August 2011 as against 573 units sold in August 2010. The German luxury car maker, registered a growth by 40% in the year to date sales figures as they sold 4890 units in Jan-Aug 2011 period, compared to 3495 units sold in the same period last year.
As always, C Class managed to lead the August 2011 sales figures at 319 units, next was followed by E Class at 189 units, then comes the ML and GL Class which sold 59 units and last was top of the line S Class, which sold 22 units.
Mr. Debashis Mitra, Director, Marketing & Sales elaborated, “The growing preference amongst customers for a premium brand like Mercedes-Benz reiterates their faith in our exciting product offering, world class after sales service and our impeccable brand value. With the launch of the exciting New C-Class and an aggressive launch calendar this festive season, we are bullish to retain the ongoing good momentum. Overall we are going good and well on course towards achieving our targets and do not see the need to revise them.”
