Mercedes-Benz S Class India launch price Rs 1.57 crores

The new S-Class, from Mercedes-Benz, was launched in India today at a starting price of Rs 1.57 crores, ex-showroom, New Delhi. Only one variant on offer, S500, the 2014 S Class will be sold as a CBU.

The new S Class is seen 28mm wider, 20mm longer and 15mm taller than its predecessor. The variant launched in India, features dimensions of Length/width/height 5246/1899/1483, wheelbase 3165 (mm). Despite these dimensions, the car itself is not imposing in stance and gives the impression of perfect styling with a host of chrome accents.

s class india launchThe new S Class sports a new headlight design with LED lights bearing a gemstone like appearance. In fact, there are 54 LEDs for the headlights and 35 LEDs for the tail lights as the S Class does not have a single light bulb in the entire car. Interiors feature over 300 LEDs. Exteriors are well sculpted offering a sporty appeal with a three pointed star popping out on the hood. Its drooping roofline offers a more couple like stance while the car sits on 10 spoke wheels with a brand new design.

The rear end resembles the Maybach while in its entirety the 2015 S Class is an automobile of elegance and grace. Interiors are a perfect combination of indulgence, style and plushness right from its find leather crafted seats to extensive use of quality wood and aluminum. Ventilated seats, the right kind of heating and cooling of seats and armrests with massage functions.

The engine is in the form of 4.7l V8, delivering 455 hp at 5250 rpm and 700 Nm torque at 1800-3500 rpm. Power is delivered to all four wheels via 4MATIC all wheel drive. Transmission is taken care by 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. 0-100 kmph is achieved in just 4.4 seconds while top speed is limited to 250 kmph.
