Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta is a new $1.4 bn (Rs 9,278 crore) facility being built next to the Falcons’ Georgia Dome which will be demolished once the new stadium is constructed and completed in 2017.
Mercedes-Benz USA and AMB Sports & Entertainment have announced the new Atlanta stadium. Terms of agreement have not been disclosed as on date but the stadium is scheduled to be completed in 2017 while Mercedes-Benz will have naming rights till 2042. This new stadium will be the venue for National Football League Atlanta Falcons and Major League Soccer Atlanta United. Apart from this, many other sporting events have also been lined up, including the NCAA Men’s Final Four in 2020.
The Mercedes-Benz brand will be displayed at various locations and besides at strategic spots inside and outside and on the retractable roof. Mercedes-Benz name will also be seen on the plaza area, on-field and tunnel signage, in club are and in VIP parking spaces.
The stadium model was unveiled by Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United Owner Arthur Blank during which partnership announcements were also made. This announcement follows relocation of MBUSA’s corporate headquarters from New Jersey to Atlanta in July making it an ideal location for the company brand, employees, families and culture to expand while the stadium itself connects with the brand to offer outstanding facilities for the future of Atlanta.
