Mercedes Benz to launch CLA 45 AMG and ML 500 SUV in India

Mr Eberhard Kern has already confirmed that they will launch 10 new cars this year, and they have already launched one – the new S Class. Next in line is the Mercedes Benz CLA 45 AMG and ML 500, both will come in via the CBU route once launched.

Mercedes Benz is keen to bring all their high-performance AMG cars to India, considering the growing demand in this segment. Currently the most affordable AMG model in the MB India line-up is the C 63 AMG, which is priced at around Rs 1 crore. CLA 45 AMG sedan will be more accessible to auto enthusiasts in the country as estimates reveal that it could be priced around Rs 65 lakhs.

Mercedes CLA 45 AMG is based on the same platform as A Class and B Class. It will be powered by world’s most powerful inline 4 2.0 liter engine in serial production. The turboed petrol engine on board CLA 45 AMG delivers 355 bhp at 6000 rpm and 450 Nm torque and mated to a 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The car is is capable of acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.6 seconds and has the ability to reach a top speed of 250 kmph.

Safety, technology and comfort and convenience features on board the new Mercedes CLA 45 AMG abound. Coming in with 10 way airbag protection, attention assist, Bi-Xenon headlamps and LED tail lamps, daytime running lights and advanced tyre pressure monitoring system, the new CLA 45 AMG will sport MB-tex/DINAMICA upholstery, AMG Performance front seats and dual zone automatic climate control besides a host of audio and entertainment facilities.

Speaking about the other car for India, the ML 500 will be a high protection SUV. Powered by a V8, this will be their first high protection SUV for India. It is designed for individuals, businessman, political leaders, etc, who will benefit the most from such an SUV. More details to be revealed once the cars are unveiled.
