Being launched in India on September 30, 2014 at an expected price between 25-35 lakhs, bookings of the new Mercedes Benz GLA Class have opened at a down payment of INR 1 lakh. Mercedes Benz GLA Class is pegged as the smallest crossover in the automakers product lineup. It will measure 4417mm long, 1804 mm wide and is 1494 mm tall while it will have boot space of 421 liters augmented to 836 liters with rear seats folded flat. Mercedes Benz GLA Class will sit on the same MFA platform that is seen on the A Class and will receive best in segment ground clearance of 183mm.
Sporting 18” alloy wheels, a panoramic sun roof and twin rear exhaust system, the new Mercedes Benz GLA Class will receive well appointed interiors with ambient lighting, ARTICO upholstery and a host of safety features to include 7 airbags, ASR, ABS, BAS, ESP curve dynamic assist, hill start assist, and much more.
Engine specs to be seen on board the new will include both petrol and diesel engines. These engines will be in the form of a 1.6 liter four cylinder petrol and 2.2 liter four cylinder turbocharged diesel. The petrol variant will sport a GLA 200 Sport badge and will be capable of 156 PS peak power at 3,500 rpm while the diesel variant will have a GLA 200 CDI badge and will have peak output of 136 PS at 1,400 to 3,000 rpm. Both engines will be mated to a 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission sending power to front wheels.
