Mercedes Benz has brought us the highly awaited GLC Coupe through Concept form at 2015 Auto Shanghai in China, today.
This Mercedes GLC Coupe Concept is labelled as a “near-production-standard study”. The car is based on second generation GLK compact SUV that will be renamed as GLC according to new naming standards. What looks like a shrunk GLE Coupe, including the similarly stacked twin exhaust pipes peeping out of both ends of rear bumper, is set to rival BMW X4, and will enter production in 2016.
Mercedes GLC Coupe will receive full LED headlights, ride on massive 21-inch alloy wheels, be coated with solar-beam paint and wear matte gun-metal finished body cladding made of plastic, for a mix of trendy and intimidating looks. The crossover measures 4.73 meters in length and stands at just 1.60 meters in height courtesy of the sloping roofline.
Powering the Mercedes Benz GLC Coupe Concept is 3.0 litre V6 bi-turbo engine packing 367 PS max power @ 5,500 rpm and 520 Nm peak torque @ 1,400 – 4,000 rpm, mated to nine-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC All Wheel Drive system.
