Priced from €1.4 million in Germany ($1.56 million / INR 10.45 crore) Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman Guard has been unveiled ahead of its global debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show later this month.
Heavily armored, the new Maybach S600 Pullman Guard is ideally suited for heads of state, royalty and the likes. It offers occupants VR9 bullet-proof protection both where glass and body is concerned and can withstand rounds from an assault rifle. It receives Direct ERV 2010 blast rating keeping passenger safe even if 15 kgs of TNT explodes within a 2 meter radius.
Even more secure than the Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard, which was launched in India earlier this year, the Pullman Guard weighs a total of 5.1 tonnes as these armored accents add to the overall weight of the car thus making it as heavy as a tank. VR9 level protection means that the doors get reinforced with heavy armored plating for which electric motors have to be used for operation.
Interiors boast of the very best in passenger comforts such as reclining executive seating with adjustable support and a host of heating and massage features. The floor has also been reinforced to protect occupants from land mines and even though rear window has not been armored, a steel bulkhead has been put in place behind rear seats.
The S600 Pullman receives sirens, two-way radios and an emergency starter battery pack along with sirens and external loud speaker. It is powered by a 6.0 liter V12 bi-turbo engine offering 515 bhp power and 830 Nm torque while top speed is limited to 160 kmph due to its massive weight.
