Mercedes Benz S Class Connoisseur’s Edition launched in India

One of the most luxurious ever to be built, the new Mercedes Benz S Class gets even more luxurious, thanks to the addition of new Connoisseur’s Edition. Available in both petrol S400 and diesel S350 trims, the S350 Connoisseur’s Edition is priced from INR 1.21 crores while the S 400 ‘Connoisseur’s Edition’ is priced from INR 1.32 crores (ex-showroom, Pune).

Highlight of this new exclusive variant of the S Class is the executive rear left seat which you can see in the image above. This seat comes with extended thigh support and seat reclination up to 43.5 degrees.

Mercedes Benz S Class S350 CDI ‘Connoisseur’s Edition’ is powered by a 3.0 liter V6 turbocharged diesel engine sending power to rear wheels via 7G-Tronic Plus automatic gearbox. This engine offers power of 258 bhp and torque of 490 Nm. On the other hand, the S400 petrol ‘Connoisseur’s Edition’ is powered by a 3-litre, V6 engine producing 245 kW (333 hp) and 480Nm of peak torque. Transmission is via 7G-Tronic Plus automatic gearbox.

Sitting on the same chassis as the regular S Class on sale in India, the new S Class ‘Connoisseur’s Edition’ possess qualities of enhanced stiffness and lower NVH levels. The company has also incorporated an AIRMATIC suspension with Magic Body Control for better ride comforts. It also gets AIR-BALANCE perfume package with air ionization.

Interiors of the S Class ‘Connoisseur’s Edition’ are equipped with a host of comfort features and infotainment to include Burmester sound system with 24 speakers producing 1540W sound. The premium saloon also gets a Linguatronic system, a voice command system that understands each street and road name even though it may be pronounced differently.

Safety on board the S Class ‘Connoisseur’s Edition’ will be in the form of 8 airbags, dynamic cornering control system and adaptive brakes with hold function. It also gets Night View Assist Plus for enhanced driving safety at night.

The new S Class is produced from the company’s Chakan plant. Mercedes Benz is offering a special S Class Chauffeur Training Program in India, a training program to educate chauffeurs about the various features on board the new S Class. This training will include 21 modules in a multilingual course and is the first of its kind specially designed to impart user friendly information to chauffeurs to drive the S Class. Chauffeurs will also be educated on soft skills, etiquette, personal development, courtesy and safety.
