MG Comet has a unique, quirky profile, packs in a comprehensive range of hi-tech features – Range is 230 km
As part of its plans to expand its EV portfolio in Indian market, MG Motor has introduced its affordable 2-door Comet EV. It will primarily target big cities where a compact vehicle can deliver multiple advantages such as easy parking and swift manoeuvring through heavy traffic. Comet can also do well across Tier II and Tier III cities, which have shown increasing preference for electric cars in recent times.
Two-door passenger vehicle segment is largely untapped in India. MG Comet EV has an open road ahead and won’t have any direct rivals. In terms of its pricing, Comet EV will take on Tata Tiago EV. The latter is available at a starting price of Rs 8.69 lakh. MG will announce Comet EV prices on 26th April 2023. Ahead of that brochure of MG Comet EV has leaked online, credit to Automobile Tamilan.
MG Comet EV styling and features
MG Comet EV is essentially a rebranded version of Wuling Air EV. While it looks like a toy car with its compact proportions, the tall design ensures adequate space for all passengers. Speaking about dimensions, MG Comet EV is 2974mm long, 1505mm wide, 1640mm tall and has a 2010mm wheelbase. Turning radius is just 4.2m, which is a boon for driving on busy streets or while parking in tight spaces.
MG Comet EV has a closed front grille, full-width LED strip, sleek headlamps and prominent bumper. It has large-sized doors, sporty alloy wheels and a flat rear section. A range of 4 exciting colour options are available for MG Comet EV. These are Beach Bay (blue), Serenity (green), Sundowner (orange) and Flex (red). To make your Comet EV trendy, MG offers Sticker styles and Lit packs, as can be seen in the official brochure.
Inside, Comet EV offers a comprehensive range of advanced features. The showstopper is the dual 10.25-inch screens, a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital cluster. Users will be able to pair their devices to access a range of features. Users can access music, turn-by-turn navigation, weather info and real-time traffic updates.
A number of remote functions are also available. There’s a customizable widget system as well, which can be altered based on the user’s needs and preferences. MG Motor has provided an easy-to-use interface, allowing the driver to access the car’s features without compromising on safety.
