While MG Hector facelift will be getting a mild exterior refresh, the equipment list is likely to see some major upgrades

MG will be introducing the Hector facelift on 15th December, 2025. Test mules have been spotted multiple times and official teasers have also been posted. MG Hector takes on rivals such as Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV700. Ahead of its launch, MG Hector facelift has been spotted without any camouflage at a dealership. Let’s check out the details.

MG Hector facelift revealed

One of the striking features of MG Hector is its large grille, which ensures a strong road presence. While the facelift retains this design approach, one can see an entirely new format for the grille elements. The current model’s grille has studded elements in metallic finish, which is quite elegant and has a royal touch to it.

In comparison, Hector facelift gets a honeycomb pattern design in a vertically stacked format. The image appears to have been clicked from a close distance, which could have resulted in the grille elements looking proportionately bigger than they actually are. Also, the blacked-out elements in the grille are not clearly evident, diluting the overall impact. Apart from these, the MG logo in the centre appears to be the same as earlier.

For folks who may not prefer a liberal use of chrome, the Hector facelift could offer a black chrome or a blacked-out finish option for the grille. While the grille may appear to be ostentatious, it is quite effective in achieving a distinctive and powerful presence. The overall impact will also depend on the exterior colour of the SUV. In this spy shot, the exterior colour is white. The new grille could pair better with other colour options such as red and black.

Another change that one can spot is the redesigned bumper with sharper chrome accents. Apart from that, most other features are largely the same as earlier. It includes the top-mounted LED DRLs and polygonal housings for the headlamps and fog lamps. Side and rear profiles are also largely the same as earlier. Only exceptions are a new design for the alloy wheels and some new detailing on the rear bumper.

MG Hector facelift – New tech features

With the MG Hector facelift, users can expect some major enhancements in the tech package. An advanced infotainment system is likely, which will be faster, smoother and more intuitive. Hector facelift could get multi-touch gesture controls, which will make it easy for users to access functions like music and fan speed. The idea is to digitize the cockpit experience, bringing it closer to that of using a smartphone.

Safety kit could be upgraded with addition of new features to the ADAS package. It is possible that ADAS could be offered with the lower variants as well. As of now, ADAS is only available with the top variant of MG Hector. Other possibilities include front and rear ventilated seats and new connected-car features.

Powertrain options are expected to be carried over with the MG Hector facelift. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine generates 143 PS and 250 Nm of torque. It is paired with either a 6-speed manual or CVT transmission. The 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine generates 170 PS and 350 Nm. It is offered with only a 6-speed manual transmission.
