MG Hector chrome parts modified with Matte Black tape – Price, Photos

MG Hector has been a runaway success in India. Bookings numbers have crossed 28k while waiting list has about 15k names already. That is a potential wait list of 43,000 customers for a car which was launched less than 3 months ago.

Some owners who have taken delivery of the Hector, have also managed to modify their SUV. Some even got it modified even before taking delivery. There are now MG Hector SUVs with modified body parts, new alloys, larger tyres, etc.

One such owner is from Gurgaon, who recently applied an all BLACK matte tape from 3M on all the chrome parts of the SUV. The cost of this application is Rs 20,000. Below are detailed photos of this modification.

MG Hector is priced from Rs.12.18 lakhs to Rs.16.88 lakhs. It is offered in five color options of Glaze Red, Burgundy Red, Starry Black, Aurora Silver and Candy White. Dimensions stand at 4,655mm length, 1,835mm width and 1,760mm height while wheelbase measures 2,750mm. On board features include fog lamps at the front and rear, LED DRLs and floating light turn indicators.

It gets dual tone machined alloy wheels and interiors that boast of segment first connectivity features. These range from its large touchscreen system with iSMART mobile application for both Android and Apple devices. It is also fitted with an Airtel SIM card and gets an embedded Machine to Machine SIM which is Internet Protocol Version 6(IPV6) and 5G ready.

It offers features such as Hello MG, an AI based Voice Assistant capable of over 100 voice controls, Over the Air Updates, safety and security via e-call feature, concierge services via pulse hub, maps and navigation by TomTom, Music by Gaana and Weather by Accuweather.

The MG Hector petrol is powered by a 1.5 liter turbocharged engine offering 141 bhp power and 250 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox and an optional 6 speed DCT. It also gets its power via a 2.0 liter turbocharged diesel engine capable of 168 bhp power and 350 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. It faces competition in India from the Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV500 and top variants of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos.
