One of the fastest growing car brand in India, MG Motor announced the launch of a mobile showroom today. The all new MG Hector mobile showroom on wheels will take the brand MG Motor to new markets / cities across the country. This will no only help MG increase their brand awareness in India, but will also bring in new customers to the brand.

The mobile showroom, a 45-feet trailer, showcases the Hector, India’s first internet car, and offers a similar experience like other MG showrooms across the country. It showcases the brand’s British heritage with focus on digital-led experiences. It consists of an interactive digital terminal through which visitors can experience the HECTOR, choose its accessories and configure the car as well. Watch the detailed video below.
Ever since launch in India, MG Hector has become the best selling car in the segment. Last month, MG Hector sales crossed the 3,600 mark – which is also the highest monthly sales registered by MG Hector till date. In spite of registering such high sales, there are still a lot of customers who are waiting to get delivery of Hector.
In order to speed up the delivery and reduce wait time, MG India has increased production of Hector from 1,500 units to over 3,000 units per month – in a matter of few months. At the time of launch, MG India had said that their plant is scalable, which is why the company was able to scale-up production when needed.
At a time when entire auto industry is going through slowdown, MG India has announced launch of new showrooms, new job openings and added investments. Over the next few months, MG will launch ZS electric SUV, Hector 6 seater variant and Maxus D90 full sized SUV.
Speaking about MG Hector, it is offered in four variants of Style, Super, Smart and Sharp and in petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.5 liter petrol engine offers 143 PS power and 250 Nm torque while the 2.0 liter turbocharged diesel engine offers 170 PS power and 350 Nm torque.
The petrol engine also gets a 48V hybrid option with all engines getting mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox as standard. The non hybrid petrol engine gets a 6 speed DCT. The MG Hector competes with the Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass primarily. But it also takes on higher variants of Hyundai Creta and recently launched Kia Seltos.
