Earlier this year, JSW MG Motor India officially unveiled their new flagship ICE SUV at the 2025 Auto Expo. We’re talking about the Majestor SUV which is an updated version of Gloster. It has been spied testing from past year, but even after the official unveiling, Majestor launch timeline seems to be uncertain. Let’s take a closer look at the recent spy shots.
MG Majestor SUV Spied Testing
JSW MG Motor India has seen a major success in the country’s electric car segment with the launch of Windsor EV. However, the company has not been able to create a similar magic in India’s large SUV segment where Toyota Fortuner continues to be a dominant player with a resounding fan following and demand.
So, MG has re-consolidated its strategy for this segment and unveiled Majestor at 2025 Auto Expo earlier this year. While there have been a multitude of test mule sightings and speculated launch timelines, there hasn’t been an official launch announcement even after all this time. However, the test mules continue to be spied on.

The latest spy shots show Majestor SUV without any camouflage sitting in what looks like a dealer yard collecting dust. The rear right window was covered while the rest of the body was not. Majestor undergoes an extensive sheet metal revision when compared to Gloster, but retains most of the core components including its platform.
Majestor may break the 5m length barrier and come of as a significantly larger vehicle than Gloster. It features a revised fascia with modern design elements including vertical LED headlight setup, slim LED DRL setup, a large grille, chunky skid plates, large alloy wheels, MAJESTOR lettering on tailgate, connected LED tail lights and dual exhausts, among others.
When will it launch?
On the inside, MG Majestor continues with the overall layout as Gloster, but is redesigned enough to establish its own identity. Things have been spruced up and modernised to meet evolving trends. Where mechanical changes are concerned, MG Majestor aims to be an even better off-roader than it was by offering three locking differentials, as opposed to one on Gloster and even Fortuner.

Powering the MG Majestor will be the same 2.0L Diesel engine which could be offered in both single turbo and twin turbo options as Gloster. The former is rated at 161 PS and 373 Nm, while the latter can crank out 216 PS and 478 Nm. An 8-speed automatic torque converter might be offered as standard.
MG Motor has not revealed an official launch date for Majestor yet. The company is hush hush about the launch timeline as of now. However, we expect it to launch in 2026 in India. When launched, it will rival Toyota Fortuner and Isuzu MU-X along with smaller luxury SUVs.
