MG Windsor was launched in Sept 2024 and has already become the best-selling model in the company portfolio – Hector has slipped to No 2
In November 2024, MG Motor sold 6,019 cars in India. It marked a 45% YoY increase even as MoM sales declined by 25%. It showed off particularly high demand for MG’s EV lineup that currently includes Comet EV, ZSEV and recently launched Windsor. Apart from its EV range, MG also has Astor, Hector/Plus and Gloster in its product range.
MG Sales Nov 2024
MG sales in Nov 2024 stood at 6,019 units, a 45% YoY growth from 2,454 unit sales of Nov 2023. MoM sales ended lower by 15% when compared to 7,045 unit sales of Oct 2024. This was MG’s best-ever sales figure ever since its entry into the Indian passenger vehicle segment.
MG Windsor was the best-selling model. Sales stood at 3,144 units in Nov 2024 showing off flat MoM performance, just 28 units down from 3,116 unit sales of Oct 2024. MG Windsor EV was also the best-selling electric passenger vehicle in India last month accounting for 30% share of India’s total electric vehicle sales. At No. 2 was Hector/Plus. Sales declined to 1,106 units in Nov 2024 which was a 48% YoY de-growth. MoM sales performance also ended lower by 10% from 1,224 units sold in Oct 2024.
MG Comet EV had 600 units sold last month, a 14% YoY decline from 698 unit sales of Nov 2023. MoM sales also nearly halved by 48% from 1,151 units sold in Oct 2024. MG Astor followed with a 25% YoY and 29% MoM decline in sales to 548 units. This was a severe decline from 726 units and 767 units sold in Nov 2023 and Oct 2024 respectively.
MG ZS EV accounted for a 13% YoY growth in sales to 483 unit sales in Nov 2024. This was a 55 unit volume increase from 428 units sold in Nov 2023. MoM sales however, fell by 21% from 611 unit sales of Oct 2024. MG Gloster too saw lower demand in Nov 2024 with 138 unit sales marking a 20% YoY and 22% MoM decline. In total, MG’s EV range (comprising of Comet, Windsor and ZS) accounted for total sales of 4,227 units. MG’s ICE vehicle range saw total sales of 1,792 units. Taking total sales of 6,019 units in Nov 2024.
MG Price Hike from Jan 2025
Like several other automakers in India, MG Motor too has announced a price hike from Jan 2025. Its model range is set to become more expensive by upto 3%. MG cites rising input costs and other factors for this hike and promises to minimize impact on customers. In January 2025, MG also plans launch of new Cyberster. This is a two-door all-electric roadster being brought in under its new ‘MG Select’ sub-brand in the country.
