MINI John Cooper Works Concept revealed before Detroit 2014

The new MINI JCW Concept will sit on 18” light alloy wheels in a brand new design while the overall picture showcases a sportier car with a high performance powertrain and new chassis technology. Based on the latest generation MINI, JCW Concept sits on a longer wheelbase and wider tracks as compared to its outgoing counterpart.

Larger air intakes, LED headlights and black surrounds on front grille are also eviden, while special roof spoiler and other body components are designed to channel air efficiently around the C pillars for better balance at higher speeds.

No engine details have been revealed as on date, but it could be powered by an enhanced version of a 2.0 liter twin turbocharged gasoline engine which currently does duty on the Cooper S model. Output of this engine should be over 208 hp and probably closer to 215 hp as is seen on the MINI JCW GP special edition model.
