MTU India of Tognum Group Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tognum Asia, Singapore, has opened a new engine test cell facility at their plant in Tathawade on the outskirts of Pune. This test cell facility will go a long way in offering better facilities to customers. It has the capacity to test upto Series 4000 engines ranging from 300 to 4300 kW capacities.
MTU India commenced operations in Pune in February 2010 where their head office is housed for their sales and service operations. This new engine test cell facility will enable the company to cater to the changing needs of the Indian customers in the area. The company has expanded their presence in Indian markets since 2010 with added investments, augmented facilities and expanded networks.
The company is a major manufacturer of large diesel engines and complete propulsion systems. MTU India is actively involved in the marketing and distribution of MTU, Detroit Diesel and Mercedes Benz diesel engines and spare parts.

Tony Davis, Vice President for Network Management & Global Distribution at MTU, inaugurated the engine test cell facility by explaining, “Establishing the new test cell at MTU India Service Centre is in line with Tognum’s expansion plan in India. Since 2010, we have expanded our presence in the Indian market with continued investments in terms of facilities, tools and network. These investments will go a long way in meeting the expectations of our esteemed customers in India.”
