New Audi Q3 Sportback debuts – More attractive, More space, More price

Audi Q3 Sportback sports a black octagonal singleframe 3D design grille, trapezoidal air inlets, and bumper with a flat blade. The cabin in contrasting colours exude its SUV character. A low roofline, flat D?pillars, and roof edge spoiler make up the top silhouette. This design idea makes Q3 Sportback appear to be longer than the Q3. The sportback is 3cms lower.

Strong contours meet the wheel arches. Quattro drive is the standard option for most engine variants. Reversing lights in the taillight cluster run inwards in a tapered shape, akin to the sportback’s flat headlights.

Audi Q3 Sportback compact crossover features a progressive steering as standard. This ensures gear ratio becomes increasingly direct as the steering angle increases. Suspension is available with damper control as an option.

Audi drive select offers 6 drive options including off-road mode. Electronically adjustable shock absorbers and steering assistance. Improve drive experience. Hill descent control is available as an option and keeps selected speed at a when incline is greater than 6 percent. For launch in Europe, Audi Q3 Sportback compact crossover is available with a petrol and diesel engine.

Under the hood is Audi’s turbocharged 2.0-litre engine. It returns 226 hp (169 kilowatts). Two 2.0-litre diesel engines are available. They return 147 hp (110 kW) and 187 hp (140 kW). The 147-hp (110-kW) 1.5-litre four-cyl gets a boost form a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. All engines are mated to the Audi seven-speed S Tronic dual-clutch transmission.

Quattro AWD is standard on all variants barring the entry-level 1.5-litre petrol, and 2.0-litre diesel engines. These are FWD offerings. Quattro all-wheel drive is an available option for the diesel model. Manual transmission with a quattro drive will be available soon after launch, following which the more powerful diesel, and the entry-level petrol engine combined with a 48 V mild-hybrid system will be launched.

Audi Q3 Sportback is 4.50 m (14.8 ft) long, 1.84 m (6.0 ft) wide and 1.56 m (5.1 ft) high. Wheelbase measures 2.68 m (8.8 ft). Rear seats can seat three people. Bootspace ranges from 530 l (18.7 cu ft) to 1,400 l (49.4 cu ft). An electric tailgate that can be opened and closed with a foot motion is on offer as an option. Front seats are electrically adjustable with the option of heating. Price starts from €40,200 (Rs 31 lakhs) for 35 TDI S tronic and €46,200 (Rs 35.5 lakhs) for 45 TFSI quattro S tronic.
