Moneycontrol reports that three new Bajaj Avenger models are waiting to be launched later this week. The new variants are expected to be improved and mildly evolved versions of the existing affordable cruiser family.
With the introduction of new Avenger series, the Pune-based two wheeler maker is reportedly planning to multiply the nameplate’s monthly sales volume to about 20,000 units from the current 4,000. Details on the three variants are on short supply now.
As of now only the Avenger 220 DTS-i variant is on sale but the new model could be available with varying displacements with the 200 NS’s 199.5 cc unit definitely in the mix. On board the Pulsar 200 NS, the triple-spark motor develops 23.5 PS and 18.3 Nm of torque.
The new Avenger family would be complementing the strong selling Pulsar range in a segment which is showing immense potential. The Avenger’s advantage would be the absence of any direct rival in the niche affordable cruiser segment, at least until the UM Renegade and Keeway Blackster jump in.
One can expect the new Bajaj Avenger series to offer features like a digital instrument console, rear disc brakes and even a single-channel ABS as an option.
