Bentleys Flying Spur made its debut in China at the Auto Shanghai 2013 alongside the Continental GT Speed and Mulsanne. Bentley has also announced that it will be expanding its market in the Far East as it hopes to reach a double digit growth this year. 2012 saw the brand register a 23% growth, this year the brand will enliven its expansion efforts as it looks to improve its dealership network from the current 26 to 12 more by May 2013 and 45 outlets by 2015.
The Flying Spur boasts of masculine lines and dynamics along with stylish cue and contemporary details. Exteriors boast of a muscular front and rear end that are infused with dipped headlights and taillights to accentuate the masculine look. LED DRL’s too have been provided. The interiors of the Flying Spur are graced with exquisite craftsmanship that exudes superior crafted leather hides and wood veneer. Cabin space exudes a luxurious aura and has been integrated with advanced acoustic and electronic technologies. Electronic aids include touch screen infotainment systems, mobile and Wi-Fi connectivity, Rear entertainment suite, 8-channel 8 –speaker audio system with balanced mode regulators for sound clarity as also a bespoke Touch screen remote to allow rear cabin passengers to control the system easily.
The Flying Spur is powered by the 6.0L twin turbo W12 engine that is capable of developing 616 hp and 590 lb/ft of torque. The engine is mated to a ZF eight speed transmission for efficient control and stability. Efficient power to weight distribution allows the vehicle to reach and top speed of 200 mph and do 0-60mph within a span of 4.3 seconds. Bentley Mulsanne and Continental GT Speed boast of 0-60 mph sprints times of 5.1 second and 4.0 seconds respectively.
