New BMW G310GS Adventure motorcycle launched in India – Price Rs 3.49 lakhs

Much awaited BMW G310GS offroad adventure motorcycle has been officially launched in India today. Set to take on the likes of Kawasaki Versys 300 and the upcoming KTM 390, price starts from Rs 3.49, ex-showroom / Rs 4.35 lakh on-road. The bike is manufactured in India by TVS Motors at their plant in Tamil Nadu.

Speaking about the bike, BMW India says that the G310Gs has a riding position that is slightly elevated for comfort, proper street view and the ability to respond to varying road conditions for improved precision handling. This will come very handy for Indian road conditions, especially in cities where traffic and potholes are unpredictable.

BMW G310GS design and road adaptability makes for an enjoyable ride experience on varied terrains including gravel and country roads. Riding position is optimised with tactful placement of handlebars, footrests and key elements to suit riders without having to stretch to find perfect position.

The bike features a windscreen, 180 mm rear suspension, upside-down fork in the front, and 19″ front wheel. A steel grille bridge frame strengthens riding stability and easy manoeuvrability. Braking is via single disc in the front as well as at the rear.

The single-cylinder engine is angled to the rear with the cylinder head rotated 180 degrees. This allows to lower the bike’s centre of gravity, which is focused on the front wheel for easy turns, corners, and swerves. The Euro IV (Closed-loop 3-way catalytic converter emmission standard) offering makes for optimised performance.
