New BMW K 1600 Grand America debuts at the 2017 EICMA show

Revealed in two color schemes of black and black yellow, BMW K 1600 Grand America promises enhanced performance for long distance rides. Ideally suited for highway cruising for both solo rider or with passenger, this new K 1600 B is a fully faired touring model that has made its official entry at the 2017 EICMA Show in Milan.

Derived from BMW K 1600 B, the new BMW K 1600 Grand America receives features such as all LED lighting and brake light, large floor boards, reverse assist and dynamic electronic suspension adjustment. It is also seen with softer damper settings and standard equipment such as engine protection bars, heated grips and seating along with cruise control, quick shifter and a host of chrome accents that augment its premium appeal. It is offered in color combinations of Austin Yellow metallic and Blackstorm metallic and true to its touring capabilities comes in with high windshield and integrated air ducting to offer fresh air to the rider.

In terms of safety, BMW K 1600 Grand America gets options of safety assistant pro, eCall system with intelligent emergency call, ConnectedDrive, keyless ride, hill start control and comfort package. Adjustable seat height, forged handlebars and BMW Motorrad Accessories package is also available for customization depending on rider’s demands. Floorboards are more relaxed with feet forward position and seat is reduced by 70mm for better ergonomics.

As is seen on all 1600 models, BMW K 1600 Grand America is also powered by a 6 cylinder engine having outputs of 118 kW/160 hp at 7,750 rpm and 175 Nm torque at 5,250 rpm. This engine allows the bike to glide effortlessly on the road and deliver outstanding performance whatever the situation and top speed is pegged at 162 kmph.
