BMW M4 CS is positioned between the M4 Competition Package and M4 GTS in the company line-up. The exterior design features several sporty accents right from its carbon fiber hood to front lip spoiler in carbon fiber. It also gets a small carbon finer deck lid spoiler and OLED tail lamps and carbon fiber rear diffuser. All this use of carbon finer results in a 32 kg reduction in weight over the M4 and 10 kg weight reduction over M4 Competition Package.
Interiors get carbon fiber door panels and door straps. Seats are done up in leather and alcantara with white contrast stitching. Alcantara is seen on the steering wheel with center line and a distinctive ‘CS’ logo embroidered into the alcantara dashboard.
BMW M4 CS is powered by a 3.0 liter twin turbocharged, inline six engine offering 454 hp power and 600 Nm torque. This also makes it considerable more powerful than the M4 and M4 Competition Package. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 3.9 seconds and top speed is at 278 kmph.
When put to the test at Nürburgring, BMW M4 CS clocked 7 min and 38 seconds making it slower than the GTS but as fast as Porsche 991 Carrera S, Lexus LFA and Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. The new M4 CS is available in exterior color options of Lime Rock Grey metallic, Alpine White, San Marino Blue metallic, Sapphire Black metallic and Frozen Dark Blue II.
Pricing of BMW M4 CS starts from €116,900 in Germany, though prices in US and Canada, where it will launched in early 2018, have not yet been announced.
