Bugatti has just released a new teaser video to generate interest around its eagerly anticipated Chiron hypercar. The video which wishes the fans a happy new year is titled ‘Breaking New Dimensions’.
While the video doesn’t show the car at all, it clearly reveals the VW-owned French brand’s ambitions for it. Extreme, hair-raising and adrenaline-pumping are a few terms we could think of to describe Bugatti’s Veyron successor.
A few details have been confirmed so far. The Chiron will use an improved version of the Veyron’s 8.0-litre W16 quad-turbo petrol engine which pumps out an unearthly 1,500 PS and 1,500 Nm of torque. The colossal output figures are estimated to propel the Chiron to a record breaking top-speed of 290 mph (467 kmph). The engine is most liklely to benefit from F1 style electric motor assistance.
The world’s most powerful and fastest production car would make its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show 2016 on 1st of March. The hypercar’s test prototypes strongly indicate that the design would be inspired from the Vision GT concept which was showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this year.
Only 500 units of the Bugatti Chiron are expected to be produced with an eye-watering price tag of USD 2.2 million (around INR 14.64 cr) per example.
