New car week in India: Figo, Alto 800, Rexton, Safari Storme, Indigo Manza Club Class and Brio Automatic

Indian auto industry may not have seen record sales these past few months, following higher petrol prices, increased interest rates and a strained economy. But, as the festive season of Diwali nears, car manufacturers in India gear up for the best month, as far as car sales are concerned, by launching as many as six new cars in a matter of just four days.

Auto manufacturers are looking up ahead with optimism and confidence as a total of five new cars are about to be launched in the next three days, Figo was launched earlier today. The upcoming festive season has initiated auto companies to strategically plan launches of their vehicles in the auto industry will see the new Maruti Alto800, Indigo Manza Club Class from Tata Motors, Rexton from M&M and the new Figo from Ford Motors while Honda Cars India will be launching the compact Brio Automatic. General Motors will be introducing Sail, Spark and Enjoy MPV this year.

Banking on increased sales during the auspicious season, auto companies are receiving huge number of bookings, for eg, Maruti Suzuki have already received over 6,500 bookings for their upcoming Alto 800 and Mahindra has received over 5,000 bookings for Quanto. In fact, Maruti Suzuki is confident of reaching well over the 10,000 mark by the time Alto 800 is launched tomorrow.

However, despite all these vehicles being launched, the market situation in India is still difficult and though expectations are high among auto manufacturer’s, estimates dictate that demand this coming festive season will be slightly diluted as compared to what was experienced in the past years during which period sales increase by 20 to 25%.
