New cars launched in India last month – Full list with prices

1. Tata Nexon AMT – Price INR 9.41 – 10.38 lakhs

Tata Motors announced launch of the Tata Nexon AMT in May 2018. Nexon AMT is available with the top-end XZA+ variant on both the petrol and the diesel options.

Tata Nexon AMT does not look any different from the standard car. The first car in India to offer driving modes along with AMT unit, the Nexon AMT gets creep function enhancing driving in heavy traffic.

Tata Nexon AMT presented in new Etna Orange and Etna Orange with Sonic Silver roof receive three drive modes of Eco, City and Sport and two engine options – 1.5 liter petrol and 1.5 liter diesel mated to a 6 speed automated manual transmission.

2. Mini Countryman – Price INR 34.90-41.40 lakhs

Mini Countryman was launched on 3rd May 2018. It was seen at the 2018 Auto Expo earlier this year and is based on a completely new design language. It is available in three variants – Cooper S, Cooper SD and Cooper S JCW Inspired and in two petrol and one diesel engine options.

Mini Countryman is locally assembled at the BMW India plant in Tamil Nadu and competes with the Mercedes-Benz GLA, Audi Q3 and Volvo V40 Cross Country. 2018 Mini Countryman is powered by a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder petrol engine offering 189 bhp power and 280 Nm torque with acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 225kmph.

It also receives a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder diesel engine capable of 188 bhp power and 400 Nm torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 7.7 seconds and top speed is at 220 kmph. Both engines get mated to an 8 speed Steptronic transmission.

3. Mercedes AMG E63 S 4 MATIC+ – Price INR 1.5 crores

Competing solely with the BMW M5, Mercedes Benz India launched the most powerful E-Class – Mercedes AMG E63 S 4 MATIC+ in May this year. In fact, the company launched four models this year with the Maybach S650, new S-Class facelift and GLS Grand Edition along with the AMG E 63 S 4Matic+.

Mercedes AMG E63 S 4 MATIC+ is powered by a 4.0 liter V8 engine offering 604 bhp power at 5,750-6,500 rpm and 850 Nm torque at 2,500-4,500 rpm mated to a 9 speed AMG Speed shift gearbox. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 kmph. It gets an all wheel drive system with advanced 4MATIC+ all wheel drive

4. Nissan Terrano Sport Edition – Price INR 12.22 lakhs

Launched in India in limited numbers, the Nissan Terrano Sport Edition gets sporty decals and NissanConnect system which offers over 50 features and can be connected to the drive’s smartphone. Geo-fencing, Speed Alert, Curfew Alert, nearby pit stops, Locate My Car and Share My Car Location are some of its features.

The Nissan Terrano Sport Edition gets a black roof, cladding on wheel arches and crimson decals for a sporty look along with well designed interiors and seat covers and floor mats with matching crimson stitching. Its interiors sport a 7.0” touchscreen infotainment system, a host of on board safety features and Nissan will provide 3 years of free NissanConnect services to buyers with purchase of Terrano Sport.

Nissan Terrano Sport is powered by a 1.5 liter diesel engine offering 83.8 bhp power at 3,750 rpm and 200 Nm torque at 1,750 rpm mated to a 5 speed gearbox.

5. Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT – Price INR 8.54-10.49 lakhs

Maruti Suzuki India Limited launched the Brezza AMT in three variants – VDi, ZDi and ZDi+ in May in a distinctive shade of Autumn Orange color with black glossy wheels.

Besides adding an AMT gearbox, Maruti has also updated new and sporty features to the Brezza AMT with black gloss alloy wheels, all black interiors and Autumn Orange exterior paint. More safety features also find their way into the Brezza AMT to include dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors high speed alert and ABS and EBD.

Engine specifications on the Maruti Suzuki Brezza AMT includes a 1.3 liter DDiS 200 diesel engine offering 90 bhp power at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm torque at 2,000 rpm mated to a 5 speed AMT.

6. Maruti Ertiga Limited Edition – Price INR 7.79-9.71 lakhs

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Limited Edition is available on only VXI and VDI variants and three new paint finishes – Exquisite Maroon, Silky Grey, and Superior White. It gets distinct Limited Edition badging, fog lamps with chrome accents, chrome around side molding and alloy wheels.

Interiors too are refreshed with dark red seats and white borders, faux wood inlay on central console and a two tone finished steering wheel. There is ambient lighting in the cabin with Bluetooth connectivity and steering mounted controls along with a 2DIN MP3 audio player.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Limited Edition is powered by a 1.4 liter, K Series petrol engine offering 94 bhp power and 130 Nm torque and a 1.3 liter DDiS diesel engine making 89 bhp power and 200 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.

7. Ford EcoSport S – Price INR 11.37-11.89 lakhs

The sportier Ford EcoSport S launched in India is offered in petrol and diesel engine options. Its exteriors are seen with sporty accents in a dual tone with black roof, 17” 5 spoke gunmetal finished alloy wheels, grille and outside rear view mirrors along with Bi-Xenon projector headlamps as is seen on the Brazil spec EcoSport Storm edition

Ford EcoSport S interiors are seen in Satin Red highlights with a new instrument console sporting a 4.2” MID. Engine specifications include a 1.0 liter EcoBoost petrol engine. This engine is capable of 125 PS peak power and 170 Nm peak torque. The 1.5 liter diesel engine offers 100 PS power and 205 Nm torque. The new EcoSport S competes with rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the Tata Nexon.

8. 2018 Honda Amaze – Price INR 5.60-9.00 lakhs

The second generation Honda Amaze was launched on May 16, 2018. This compact sedan was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo and is being specially developed for India at the company’s Asia Pacific R&D centre in Thailand.

The new Amaze competes with the Maruti Suzuki DZire, Hyundai’s Xcent, Volkswagen Ameo, Tata Tigor and the Ford Aspire. It gets a more spacious cabin and added interiors driver and passenger comfort features. Honda claims that there is 45mm more shoulder room, 10mm added rear headroom and 25mm added space between front and rear seats. Boot space has also been augmented by 20 liters.

2018 Honda Amaze gets its power via a 1.2 liter petrol engine and 1.5 liter diesel engine mated to 5 speed manual transmission and CVT. These engines are also said to be more fuel efficient than that seen on its earlier counterpart.

9. Toyota Yaris – Price INR 8.75-14.07 lakhs

Toyota Yaris is launched in 4 variants – J, G, V and VX. It was officially launched in India on 18th May and marks its entry into the C segment dominated by the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz, VW Vento and Skoda Rapid.

Toyota Yaris is powered by a 1.5 liter VTVT-i petrol engine offering 106 bhp power at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm torque at 4,200 rpm. Transmission options on offer are 6 speed manual transmission and a CVT gearbox. Toyota could also offer a diesel option on the Yaris which could be the same 1.4 liter diesel engine seen powering the Corolla Altis.

10. Hyundai i20 CVT – Price INR 7.07-8.16 lakhs

Hyundai i20 CVT automatic, launched in India promises better performance and smooth gear shift. It is efficiently priced at INR 7.07 for the Magna version and at INR 8.16 for the Asta trim.

Loaded with features such as projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 16” diamond cut alloy wheels, interiors too get spruced up with new color scheme, multifunction steering wheel and automatic climate controls. Dual airbags, ABS, EBD and ISOFIX seats, reverse parking camera and speed sensing door lock are among its features.

Hyundai i20 CVT is powered by a 1.2 liter petrol engine offering 83 bhp power and 115 Nm torque mated to a continuous variable transmission. It rivals the Maruti Suzuki Baleno CVT and Honda Jazz CVT in its class.

11. 2018 Hyundai Creta facelift – Price INR 9.44-15.04 lakhs

Hyundai Creta facelift is launched in five trims, three engine options and a choice of two transmissions. The Hyundai Creta facelift sits on 17” wheels, gets an adjustable driver seat, sunroof and smart key. Head and tail lamps sport a new design along with revised bumpers and a cascading front grille.

Hyundai Creta facelift is powered by the same engine lineup seen on its earlier counterpart. The 1.4 liter diesel engine offers 90 hp power. The 1.6 liter petrol is capable of 123 hp power while the 1.6 liter diesel engine gives off 128 hp peak power. Each of these engines is mated to 6 speed manual or 6 speed torque converter automatic. The new Hyundai Creta facelift competes with the Renault Captur, Maruti S-Cross and Honda BR-V.

12. Lexus LX 570 – Price INR 2.33 crores

Lexus LX 570 has been launched in India on 15th May 2018. The 7 seater flagship SUV is seen with four zone climate control, leather upholstery, 10 airbags, 10 way adjustable driver seat and 11.6” screens positioned on front seat backs for rear seat passengers. It also comes in with a 19 speaker Mark Levinson music system and boasts of multi terrain select system.

Lexus LX 570 is powered by a 5.7 liter V8 engine offering 367 hp power and 530 Nm torque mated to an 8 speed automatic sending power to all four wheels. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 7.7 seconds. The new Lexus LX 570 offers third row seating that can be transformed to added cargo space if so desired.

13. Mercedes AMG SLC 43 RedArt and Orange Art – Price INR 87.48 lakhs and INR 1.02 crores respectively

Mercedes AMG SLC 43 RedArt and Orange Art are launched in India in limited editions, limited to just 25 units. They both boast of outstanding exterior features and classic interior comforts and technology.

Night Package, AMG alloy wheels in 21”, headlamps in full LED Intelligent Lighting System with black LED rings, Nappa leather interiors with AMG lettering in door panels and floor mats are seen on these two models.

Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 4MATIC Coupe ‘OrangeArt’ and SLC 43 ‘RedArt’ get powered by the same 3.0 liter V6 direct injection turbocharged engine offering 390 hp power at 6,100 rpm and 520 Nm torque at 2,000-2,500 rpm mated to an automatic transmission.

14. 2018 MINI Cooper facelift – Price INR 29.70-37.10 lakhs

2018 Mini Cooper Facelift, launched in India in May is offered in 3 door, 5 door and convertible options. It receives cosmetic updates and three new exterior color options of Emerald Grey metallic, Starlit Blue metallic and Solaris Orange metallic.

2018 Mini Cooper Facelift competes with the Mercedes A-class and Volvo V40 in India. It receives new front and rear circular LED lights with optional Matrix LED high beams and Union Jack themed LED tail lamps. Boasting of distinctive new MINI logos, the facelifted model is imported into India as a CBU.

Offered in petrol and diesel engine options, the 2018 Mini Cooper Convertible gets a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine offering 189 bhp power and 280 Nm torque mated to a 7 speed dual clutch transmission. The Mini Cooper D gets a 1.5 liter 3 cylinder turbocharged diesel engine capable of 112 bhp power and 270Nm torque mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission.

15. Mahindra TUV300 Plus – Price INR 9.59 lakhs

Mahindra TUV300 Plus is a lengthened version of the existing TUV300 with which it shares body layout, features and onboard equipment.

Mahindra TUV300 Plus measures 4,400 in length and sits on a 2,680mm long wheelbase with this added length making it a comfortable 9 seater with jump seats at the rear. It enters a market where it competes with the Toyota Innova Crysta, Renault Lodgy and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.

Mahindra TUV300 Plus is powered by a 2.2 liter mHawk 120 diesel engine offering 120 bhp power and 280 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed transmission instead of a 5 speed transmission seen on the standard TUV300.

16. 2018 Porsche Cayenne Turbo – Price INR 1.92 crores

Bookings have open for the 2018 Porsche Cayenne Turbo in India. The SUV will hit showrooms next month where it will be seen in the range topping Turbo variant priced at INR 1.92 crores.

Porsche’s flagship SUV in India, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, will compete with the Range Rover SVR, BMW X5 M, Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 and the Maserati Levante. It will be powered by a 4.0 liter, twin turbo, V8 petrol engine offering 550 PS power and 770 Nm torque. This engine will allow the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 286 kmph. Fitted with a Sport Chrono Package acceleration to 100 kmph can be achieved in 3.9 seconds.
