While Ducati Diavel retails at an ex sh price of Rs 16.15 lakh pan India, there’s one lot of vehicles that retails for a lower price tag, courtesy Big Boy Toyz. The 20 units of 2018 Ducati Diavel power cruisers on offer by BBT are available for an on road price of Rs 11.99 lakhs as against the retail on road price of Rs 18.6 lakh.
While new in essence with an odo reading of zero kms down, buyers will in fact be listed as the second owner. This is because BBT stands in as the first owner of the bikes in discussion considering they purchased the vehicles, and are now selling them. They have imported all units from outside India as CBUs.
In addition to the 20 units of the 2018 Diavel being sold, Big Boy Toyz also got its hands on 4 units of Ducati Diavel Diesel. The later is offered as a limited production of 666 units. These however have already found buyers. It is not clear if Ducati India will entertain the warranty / service of these motorcycles. The images show in the post, are of the actual bike that is on sale.
With the Ducati Diavel 1260 to soon make its entry, it would appear Ducati has offloaded its old stock to BBT, and that’s what’s helped the BBT offer. And thereby buyers, who stand to save a mind-boggling Rs 6.6 lakhs on the purchase. Ducati Diavel 1260 launch is expected in 2019.
Diavel 1200 features three riding modes, eight-level Ducati Traction Control and Bosch ABS. Power comes from a 1198.4cc Testrastretta L-twin liquid-cooled L-twin engine that returns max power of 152.2PS at 9000rpm and 123Nm of torque at 8000rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.
The bike features fully adjustable Marzocchi 50mm inverted forks and a Sachs monoshock. Braking is handled by 320mm discs with Brembo radial calipers in front, and a 265mm rear disc. Ducati Diavel stands tall in a segment of its own in India, and does find competition in the Harley-Davidson Fat Bob, which retails for Rs 14.69 lakh ex-showroom, pan-India.
