New Ford EcoSport facelift debuts in China with 174 hp engine
The dual-tone interior adopts a new design philosophy.
New Ford EcoSport facelift has made its official in China. The exterior features a revamped front fascia, the surprise lies inside. The dual-tone black and beige dashboard is entirely different from that of the existing car and certainly has an upmarket appeal.
Given that the EcoSport is a part of the One Ford global strategy, we expect the most of the aforementioned improvements to be carried over to the global model as well. The update is due to arrive in India later this year.
Front of the updated EcoSport gets new headlamps, grille and bumper. The new design is more angular and sporty like the Edge. Changes to the rear fascia include a slightly revised taillight clusters and reprofiled bumper. Like the Indian version, the Chinese model also gets the tail-gate mounted spare wheel.
The interior has nothing in common with that of the outgoing car. The steering wheel and instrument console are new, centre console has a stand-alone infotainment system (higher variants incorporate 8 inch touchscreen unit), and the low-mounted centre AC vents are hexagonal in shape. The infotainment system is powered by the latest SYNC 3 software. The overall design looks much more sophisticated than the existing one.
For the Chinese market, the Ford EcoSport facelift is powered by a 2.0 liter petrol engine which delivers 174 hp via a 6 speed DCT. It is offered with both FWD as well as AWD.
