After months of waiting, the India launch of the compact SUV is finally near. The new EcoSport facelift is due for launch in India on 9th November while media drives will take place later this month.
The new EcoSport gets revised headlight (similar to new Endeavour) and foglight cluster with LED DRLs. New Ford EcoSport facelift for India will also receive a revised grille and new alloys. Rear of the EcoSport facelift also gets a minor revision.
On the inside, new Ford EcoSport facelift dashboard layout gets updated. Instrument panel gets a minor update with blue illumination on the speedometer, tachometer, fuel level, and engine temperature needles.
Apart from this, between the two dials, there is now a bigger colour TFT MID – Multi Information Display. In addition to info like temperature, trip meter, clock, fuel efficiency, it will also show which doors are open / unlocked, service reminders, etc. The biggest update is the addition of touchscreen infotainment system.
Ford EcoSport will continue to be on offer with 1.5 liter diesel with 5 speed MT, 1.0 liter EcoBoost with 5 speed MT. What will be new is a 3 cylinder 1.5 liter petrol engine generating 120 PS. This is a new engine from Ford which was officially announced earlier this month. EcoSport facelift will be the first car in which this engine will be installed.
Once launched, the new Ford EcoSport will rival with the likes of Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon. Price is not expected to change much and is expected to be in the range of Rs 7 – 11 lakhs.
