The new-gen Suzuki Swift Sport rear and front 3-quarter angles have been envisioned by a Japanese magazine following the leak of the regular variant at a dealer conference. The next iteration of the popular global hatchback has already started testing on public roads indicating that it’s on track for a world premiere sometime towards the end of this year or early next year.
The renderings visualize the 5-door Swift Sport with black finished alloy wheels, rear diffuser and skirts. The yellow exterior color adds to the sporty character of the new hatchback. Like the current gen Swift sport, the new-gen model will have exclusive color theme, materials and features.
To be based on Suzuki’s new compact car platform which is expected to offer better crash protection and rigidity, the Swift Sport would adopt new engine. The aging 1.6-litre petrol motor is likely to be phased out by the new 1.4-litre BoosterJet turbocharged petrol engine which has 136 PS and 220 Nm of torque on tap. The AllGrip all-wheel drive system would be on board as well.
As far as the regular variants are concerned, an improved 1.2-litre K-Series petrol, 1.0-litre BoosterJet turbo petrol and a new 1.5-litre homegrown diesel engine are expected to constitute the engine lineup.
