The new Honda Accord with hidden logos and badges has been spotted testing in Gurgaon. This is the first sighting of the latest gen D-segment sedan on a public road in India.
The commencement of testing indicates that Honda Cars India is just a few months away from relaunching its popular nameplate. The car will undergo homologation shortly.
According to the import data, the sedan appears to be powered by the 2.4-litre i-VTEC petrol engine which produces 185 PS. The motor is mated either to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT. Honda is also expected to introduce the hybrid variant of the sedan to compete with the popular Toyota Camry Hybrid.
The Accord Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine and an electric motor to produce a combined power output of 196 PS. The system is paired with an e-CVT which drives the front wheels. The hybrid variant will receive a subsidy as a part of the Indian government’s FAME scheme.

The new gen car adopts the brand’s latest design philosophy inside out. It will lock horns with the likes of Toyota Camry, Skoda Superb, and the upcoming VW Passat. We expect the new Accord to be imported into India as CKD kits and assembled locally.
