Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India showcased the new Activa 5G at the 2018 Auto Expo and the same has now been officially launched in India. The Honda Activa has long ruled the segment as the most popular scooter in India. It has been regaled for its fuel efficiency, affordability, ease of use and to maintain.
But, with the new generation of Activa now launched, will these factors change? Absolutely not. Activa will continue to excel in the areas it is already No 1. In addition to that, the new Activa now comes with all new features, which makes it a notch above in the segment. Below are the details about new Activa 5G, and how it differentiates from the Activa 4G.
Price – The new Honda Activa 5G is offered in two variants – The standard model carries a price tag of INR 52,460 as against the deluxe variant which is priced at INR 54,325. Honda Activa 4G is priced at Rs 51,460. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
Color Options – New Honda Activa 5G is offered in more color options as compared to the 4G. Honda Activa 4G is available in 7 different colors of Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Trance Blue Metallic, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Pearl Amazing White, Majestic Brown Metallic and Matte Selene and Silver Metallic. The Activa 5G gets two new colors of Dazzle Yellow Metallic and Pearl Spartan Red along with all the colors from the Activa 4G.
Features – Honda Activa 5G is noted with few updated features as compared to those seen on the 4G variant. These include all new LED headlamps with integrated LED Daytime Running Lights and chrome accents. The overall design remains much the same at the sides and at the rear. In terms of overall weight, the Activa 5G is a kilo heavier as compared to the 4G. In addition, Activa 5G also gets new shopping hooks on the front and rear side of the front loading area.
Equipment – Honda Activa 5G sports a new analog digital hybrid console. Its LCD display offers information on fuel reserves and odometer. This is against the Activa 4G which sported only a regular analog console. The Activa 5G also receives service due indicator with ECO model resulting in better fuel efficiency while it also gets fitted with new seat lock, combi brake system. The LED headlamp uses less power as compared to the conventional headlamp on the 4G thereby enhancing battery life.
Engine – There is no change in engine seen on the new Honda Activa 5G which continues to sport the same engine seen on its 4G counterpart. This 110cc, 4 stroke, fan cooled engine offers 8 bhp power and 9 Nm torque. It gets a CVT automatic transmission sending power to rear wheel. There is no change in fuel efficiency with the engine continuing to offer 60 kmpl as was also seen on the 4G model while the 5.3 liter fuel tank capacity also remains the same.
