New Honda Amaze sales cross 50k in 5 months – Fastest sales record of HCIL

New Honda Amaze was launched earlier this year India. Featuring a completely revised look, the Amaze has been a huge success for Honda India, as far as sales are concerned. In just 5 months, it has managed to register sales of 50,000 units. This is the fastest ever 50,000 sales achieved by any Honda car in India.

Speaking on the success of All New Amaze, Mr Makoto Hyoda, Director, Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “The overall concept of All New Amaze was to develop a one-class-above sedan for Indian family use that exceeds the expectations of customers in the compact sedan segment.

The response to the car with 50,000 sales in 5 months is overwhelming. The advanced CVT technology has found very strong acceptance among customers with 30% of Amaze customers opting for automatic variants in petrol and diesel.”

New Honda Amaze is a sub 4 meter sedan. It measures 3,990mm in length, 1,680mm in width and 1,505mm in height. It sits on 2,405mm long wheelbase and has kerb weight of 940 kgs. Major changes, as compared to older Amaze, include styling changes, a stronger platform, new interiors, and new transmission. New exterior colour options include Radiant Red, Lunar Silver, Orchid White, Modern Steel, Golden Brown and New Green.

Another important aspect of the new Amaze which is attracting more and more buyers towards it, is its interiors. The spacious and roomy interiors are good enough for five adults. In terms of features, the new Honda Amaze gets dual airbags, ABS as standard, reverse camera, parking sensors, push button start, cruise control and automatic climate control. It also gets a 7” touchscreen infotainment system.

Honda Amaze is powered by a 1.2 liter, 4 cylinder, SOHC engine offering 87 bhp power at 6,000 rpm and 109 Nm torque at 4,500 rpm. The 1.5 liter diesel engine will be capable of 98 bhp power at 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm torque at 1,750 rpm with MT, and with CVT it is rated at 80 PS and 160 Nm. In its segment, it rivals the likes of Maruti Dzire and Hyundai Xcent.
