The new Hyundai Elantra competes with the likes of Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla and VW Jetta. Launched just 6 weeks ago, the company has already recorded over 1,100 bookings for their executive sedan, which is overwhelming performance for the segment.
Launched at a starting price of INR 12.99 lakh for the petrol variant and INR 14.79 lakh for the diesel variant, the new generation Hyundai Elantra boasts of increased dimensions with design changes that include a redesigned hexagonal front grille, swept back headlamps and wrap around tail lamps.
Sides get modified with electronically adjustable rear view mirrors and new alloy wheels. Interiors receive more space and a host of new infotainment features such as an 8” display with navigation, a redesigned console and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and Bluetooth connectivity.
2016 Hyundai Elantra in India is powered by 2.0 MPI and 1.6 VGT engines. The 2.0 MPI is a 2.0 liter four cylinder petrol engine offering 149 PS peak power and 183 Nm peak torque while the 1.6 VGT is a four cylinder diesel engine capable of 136 PS power and 306 Nm torque. Both engines will be mated to 6-speed manual, and 6-speed automatic transmission options.
