New Hyundai Santro hatchback was launched in India earlier this week. It is priced between Rs 3.89-5.65 lakhs. Available with exciting new features and design, the new Santro has stirred up excitement in its segment once again.
Booking numbers have crossed the 25,000 mark, and some dealers are already telling customers that they will have to wait till January 2019 for getting delivery. Most bookings have been done for Asta and Sportz variants.
Hyundai Santro is presented in four trims of Era, Magna, Asta and Sportz. It is seen with Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language and is positioned between the Eon and Grand i10 in the company lineup. Its exterior design elements include a bold bumper, prominent grille and strong character lines.
Its rear-end is seen with parking camera, two parking sensors and wrap around tail lamps with the Hyundai logo displayed on the center of the boot lid. ORVMs with electric adjustments, remote keyless entry and front and rear power windows are also among its key features.
As per trim levels, interior comfort and safety features range includes a 7” touchscreen audio video infotainment system with Bluetooth, MirrorLink and navigation with smart phone connectivity, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on the Asta and Sportz trims. The interiors are done up in a black and beige color scheme while seating is comfortable and offers superior thigh support.
In terms of safety, the 2018 Hyundai Santro gets a body structure made up of 63% Advanced High Strength Steel – AHSS and High Strength Steel – HSS. ABS and EBD are offered as standard along with airbags, impact sensing auto door unlock and speed sensing auto door lock.
Hyundai Santro is powered by a 1.1 liter, four cylinder petrol engine capable of 68 bhp power and 99 Nm torque. Apart from getting a 5 speed gearbox, the Santro will also be seen with an AMT gearbox option along with a factory fitted CNG options. It will take on the Maruti WagonR, Renault Kiwd and Tata Tiago in the premium hatchback segment.
