New Hyundai Venue launch price Rs 6.5 lakh – India 1st in world to get Venue

Hyundai India today announced their entry in the compact SUV segment, with the launch of Venue SUV. 2019 Hyundai Venue is the smallest SUV ever to be launched by the South Korean company. Showcased last month, simultaneously in the US and in India, Venue is a global car. With India being one of the most important market for Hyundai, the company decided to launch Venue first in India.

Launch of Venue is very important for Hyundai India. To commemorate the launch event, not only top management of Hyundai India was present, the launch was also attended by top management of Hyundai Group in South Korea as well as top officials from the company’s R&D center in Namyang. Also in attendance was Mr Bongkil Shin, Ambassador of Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of India.

Speaking about Hyundai Venue, bookings opened earlier this month. On the first day itself, Hyundai got over 2,000 bookings for the Venue. Booking amount is at Rs 21,000. Deliveries will start from today. Price of petrol variant starts from Rs 6.5 lakh, and that of diesel variant starts from Rs 7.75 lakh.

Hyundai Venue comes with a new age design language, and thus also looks the freshest of all the SUVs on offer in the segment. Hyundai Venue measures 3995 mm in length, 1770 mm in width, 1590 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2500 mm. Built at a cost of $100 million (Rs 700 crores) and with 4 years of R&D time; Venue claims to offer the best in class package. Based on new platform, Venue SUV derives inspiration from new gen Santa Fe. It has premium features such as climate control, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wiper, reverse camera with parking sensors, sunroof, touchscreen infotainment system (largest in class), rear AC vents (only for India-spec variants), airbags, ABS with EBD, and ESP. Another highlight of the new Hyundai Venue is the internet connected car technology. It is the first ever car in India to come with connected car tech. These features are utilized thanks to an eSIM which is embedded in the car. Thanks to 4G tech, the Venue is always connected to the owner, via smartphone app. Using this app, the owner can check the location of the car in real time, switch / on car remotely, switch on / off AC remotely, and many more features. Hyundai Venus is offered in with three engine options that include a 1.0 liter, 3 cylinder petrol engine offering 100 bhp power and 172 Nm torque, a 1.2 liter, 4 cylinder petrol engine offering 83 PS power and 114 Nm torque and a 1.4 liter, 4 cylinder diesel engine capable of 89 bhp power and 220 Nm torque. The 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine gets mated to a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox as well as with a 6 speed MT. The 1.2 liter petrol motor is mated to 5 speed MT while the the 1.4 liter diesel motor is mated to 6 speed MT. The small petrol motor is powerful, as well as efficient. It delivers ARAI claimed 18.27 kmpl. Diesel motor delivers 23.7 kmpl.

Hyundai aims to sell about 10k units of Venue a month. The segment, which also consists of Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford EcpSport, registered sales of about 26k in April 2019.
