Based on the recently unveiled Grand i10 facelift, the new Xcent facelift will be launched to compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire and Honda Amaze. As is seen on the current Xcent, the facelift will continue to feature a length of under 4 meter, while width will be same as that of it’s hatchback sibling. Interiors too will be same, as no change is expected, apart from an added boot space.
Engine options too will continue to be the same, in the form one petrol and one diesel. Petrol engine will the all-aluminum 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine with Dual VTVT mechanism delivering 83PS @ 6,000rpm power and 114 Nm @ 4,000rpm of peak torque with mileage of 18.9 kmpl (ARAI figure for Grand i10 hatchback).
Diesel engine will be 2nd generation U2 CRDi diesel delivering 71PS @ 4,000rpm of power and 180 Nm @ 1,500~2,750rpm of peak torque with mileage of 24.0 kmpl (ARAI figure for hatchback). Transmission options on offer include petrol manual (5 MT), petrol automatic (4 AT) and diesel manual (5 MT).
On the inside, it will get a revised dashboard with touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with smartphone, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. It also features 2 Din integrated audio system with 1 GB internal memory, steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, rear AC vents and push button key. Xcent facelift also comes gets a cooled glove box, smart key function and driver’s side auto down power window. Safety features will include airbags, ABS, adjustable and foldable OVRMs and rear parking sensors as the vehicle itself sits on 14” alloy wheels.
Both, Xcent and Grand i10 have become one of the best-selling cars in India. Thanks to aggressive pricing, updated features, powerful engines, and low maintainence costs. The facelifts will continue to offer same promise. Expect the price to be in the same vicinity as current Xcent, which is INR 5.51 lakh to INR 8.16 lakh.
Before the new Xcent is launched, Hyundai will launch the new Grand i10.
