New Hyundai Xcent Facelift spied again – Reveals rear taillights
Set for launch in India in the coming months, 2017 Hyundai Xcent Facelift gets spied for the first time on test. It will come with a new diesel engine and host of passenger comforts.
Based on the new Grand i10 facelift, the new Xcent facelift has been spied for the first time. As is seen on the current Xcent, the facelift will continue to feature a length of under 4 meter, while width will be same as that of it’s hatchback sibling. Once launched, it will rival the likes of Maruti DZire, Honda Amaze, Tata Zest and the newly launched VW Ameo.
On the outside, Xcent will be seen with a slightly different front and back. Interiors too will be revised. Biggest update on the inside is the addition of a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard.
2017 Hyundai Xcent Exteriors
The facelifted Hyundai Xcent will sport a host of exterior updates as compared to its earlier counterpart. These include a wider front grille and new fog lamp housing besides a new rear bumper. Its top end variants will sit on 14” diamond cut alloy wheels.
In terms of dimentions, there will be no change between the outgoing Xcent and the facelift. It could measure 3,995 mm in length, 1,660 mm in width, 1,520 mm in height and sit on a wheelbase measuring 2,425 mm. The ground clearance could stand at 165 mm along with boot volume of 407 liters. Fuel tank capacity stands at 43 liters, as was seen in its predecessor.

On the inside, it will get a revised dashboard with touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with smartphone, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. It also features 2 Din integrated audio system with 1 GB internal memory, steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, rear AC vents and push button key.
Xcent facelift also comes gets a cooled glove box, smart key function and driver’s side auto down power window. Safety features will include airbags, ABS, adjustable and foldable OVRMs and rear parking sensors as the vehicle itself sits on 14” alloy wheels.
2017 Hyundai Xcent Facelift – Engine
Engine options too will continue to be the same, in the form one petrol and one diesel. Petrol engine will be all-aluminum 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine with Dual VTVT mechanism delivering 83PS @ 6,000rpm power and 114 Nm @ 4,000rpm of peak torque with mileage of 18.9 kmpl (ARAI figure for Grand i10 hatchback).
Diesel engine has been updated from the existing 1.1 liter to 1.2 liter option. This is a more refined engine, delivering more power and better fuel efficiency. Transmission options on offer include petrol manual (5 MT), petrol automatic (4 AT) and diesel manual (5 MT).
Both, Xcent and Grand i10 have become one of the best-selling cars in India. Thanks to aggressive pricing, updated features, powerful engines, and low maintenance costs. The facelifts will continue to offer same promise. Expect the price to be slightly increased as compared to the current range of INR 5.52 lakh to INR 8.19 lakh.
Of the two, it will be the Grand i10 facelift which will be launched first.
