2018 Jeep Wrangler made its global debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show in November 2017. The rugged SUV has now been spied on test in India. Spied on test on the Pune-Bangalore highway, the new Wrangler is expected to be launched in India later this year.
As you can see in the images, the car spied was on test via ARAI, a govt of India regulator which homologates all new vehicles in India. Speaking about the updates, the front of the new 4 door Jeep Wrangler on test sports a new front grille, larger LED headlamps and LED DRLs.
Sides are noted with a lower belt line and larger windows while at the rear, a spare wheel, LED tail lamps, larger windscreen and new bumper design was also noted.
Interiors of 2018 Jeep Wrangler also sport some design changes and driver and passenger comforts in the form of a new dashboard layout, a 7” LCD driver information display and 8.4” touchscreen infotainment system.
Sitting on a longer wheelbase results in added cabin space. The rear seat is also moved to the back giving passengers added leg room. On sale in the US, engine specifications include a 2 liter turbocharged petrol engine and 2.2 liter diesel engine mated to 6 speed manual or 8 speed automatic gearbox.
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler will be produced at the company’s Toledo facility in the US and come to India as a fully imported unit as was seen in its earlier counterpart. In the US, price starts from $28,190 (Rs 18.30 lakh).
