2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650 launched in India – Price, Specs, Details
Kawasaki India announced the launch of five new motorcycles in India today. We have already spoken about the first bike which was launched (Ninja 300) in the earlier post. Let's talk about the second motorcycle, Ninja 650 in this post.
Replacing the ER-6f, new Kawasaki Ninja 650 comes with a host of updates and improvements, making it one of the most appealing bikes with a front fairing in the segment. It was launched in India today at a starting price of INR 5.96 lakh, ex-showroom.
The updates. There is a new trellis-type steel chassis and aluminum swing-arm that has helped in weight reduction. Guess by how much? A whole 19 kgs. Yes, Ninja 650 is 19kgs lighter than the ER-6f.
New Kawasaki Ninja 650 is aimed at riders eager to enter the middleweight bike segment or are trading down from a bigger bike. The 649 twin cylinder engine is same as before, and has been retuned to meet emission norms. Compliant with Euro 4 emission limits, fuel economy stands improved at 6.8 percent compared to ER-6.

Power figures are claimed at 69hp. Kawasaki says it’s tuned for an excellent low-to-mid-range. In order to meet emission norms, the engine now delivers 3 hp less at peak, as compared to before.

The centre cluster features an adjustable shift-up light, rev counter needle that lights up in red, digital gear indicator, and ambient temperature gauge. It also gets Nissin brake calipers, along with ABS as standard.
