New Kawasaki Z250 has been launched in India today. This happens less than a month after Kawasaki launched five new bikes in India. New Z250 for India is seen with new color options. It will continue to be powered by the same engine as its outgoing counterpart and pricing starts from INR 3.09 lakh, ex-showroom. Sadly, ABS is not on offer, even as an option.
2017 Kawasaki Z250 is the smallest displacement bike in Kawasaki lineup. It retains same overall design but gets minor upgrades. It borrows some styling from the new Z900 and Z1000 and will be seen in a distinctive orange and grey color scheme as is seen on the bike on sale in Indonesia.
Set to compete against the likes of KTM 200 Duke, Honda CBR 250 R and the Benelli TNT 25, the new Kawasaki Z250 is powered by the same engine as is seen on the model now on sale in India. This 249cc liquid cooled parallel twin engine is capable of 32 PS power at 11,000 rpm and 21 Nm torque at 10,000 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox.
It gets 37mm telescopic forks in front and Uni-Trak gas charged monoshock at the rear while brakes include 290mm and 220 mm petal disc at from and rear with dual piston caliper. The new Kawasaki Z250 gets a fuel tank of 17 liter capacity and ground clearance of 145mm with overall weight at 168 kgs.
