When compared with recently launched global model, India-spec Kia Seltos facelift gets a different rear design and sports dual exhausts
Seltos is the first car to be launched by Kia in India. That said, it is also the most important car for the brand in India. For that is the car which gave Kia a widespread acceptance in the Indian car market. Today Kia is among the top 5 car brands in India, and majority of that success is because of Seltos.
2023 Kia Seltos Facelift New Features Spied For First Time
Kia has already launched the Seltos facelift in the global market. But is yet to launch the same in India. They are currently testing Seltos across various terrains of India. Because Seltos is such an important car for Kia, they will be leaving no stone unturned in making sure that the facelifted Seltos meets with the same level of success as its predecessor.
2023 Kia Seltos has been spied testing once again, but this time it reveals interesting new details. Thanks to these new spy shots, we can now confirm that Seltos for India will slightly differ in its rear design over global facelifted model. Rear section for India-spec Seltos sports twin exhausts and different tail lights with sequential indicators.
India-spec Seltos facelift gets a different tail light with vertically stacked LED elements as opposed to thin and sleek horizontal elements with the global model. It gets sequential function to its LED turn indicators, which adds a premium touch. The first vehicle to introduce sequential turn indicators in this segment was Renault Captur (discontinued from India, R.I.P.).
Another change we can notice from the spy video is dual exhaust treatment, which is also not found in global model. Earlier spy shots of Seltos facelift did not get dual exhaust treatment. It is likely that some variants get it, and some don’t. Kia may reserve the dual exhaust treatment of Seltos facelift for top X-Line and GT Line variants.
ADAS confirmed for New Kia Seltos
More and more new cars are coming with the ADAS feature in India. Newly launched Honda City facelift and new gen Hyundai Verna come with ADAS features. In the compact SUV space, it is only the MG Astor which is offered with ADAS currently. Next compact SUV in line to get ADAS will be Creta facelift and Seltos facelift.
Kia Seltos ADAS variant has already been spied on test. ADAS enabled safety features will help increase safety. Other expected additions are a panoramic sunroof, slightly different interior colour shades. Alloys and front profile are mostly in-line with the global model.
Powertrain options will include a NA 1.5L petrol with 113 bhp and 144 Nm, a 1.5L diesel with 113 bhp and 250 Nm and lastly, a 1.5L turbo petrol option with 158 bhp and 253 Nm. 6-speed MT, IVT, 6-speed AT and 7-speed DCT gearbox options are likely to be offered. Launch might happen around the festive season. 2023 Kia Seltos facelift prices will remain in line with the competition, which is about Rs 10 lakh to Rs 19 lakh range, ex-sh.
